Customer background
A university in Beijing has two campuses, currently renting two optical fiber routes (a total of 4 core bare optical fibers) to connect two 10G channels, XYT equipment was used to achieve transmission in the early stage, and now the computer room needs to be relocated and expanded.
Business challenge
1. After relocation, there are only 2 cores of fiber available in the two campuses, and the fiber link length is about 110km. Due to serious aging, the fiber loss is very large, exceeding 40dB;
2. The two core optical fibers meet the two 10G transmission channels, and the scalability of the later stage should be considered;
3. The optical port packages provided by the switches on the two sides of the customer side are inconsistent. Therefore, consider the interconnection coordination.
Solution
1. On the basis of the original device, add a WDM unit to achieve optical fiber expansion;
2. Increase Raman amplification unit to achieve long distance and large loss transmission;
3. Use the EDFA and DCM units in the early stage to compensate the line quality;
4. Use optical modules on the customer side to adapt to different switches based on different optical ports on the two switches.
