According to the statistics of the maintenance department, every year, China Unicom’s inter-provincial long-distance trunk optical cable lines have various failures hundreds of times, among which there are natural It is caused by disaster factors, and it is also caused by man-made damage or improper construction. In the past, dealing with these problems mainly relied on the on-site repair personnel to use OTDR to locate and replace them, or manual replacement in the computer room, but these methods required time ranging from half an hour to one hour, and would consume a lot of manpower and material resources. In this context, the OLP system came into being.
2. What is the OLP system?
OLP (Optical Fiber Line Auto Switch Protection Equipment)-optical fiber line automatic switching protection device. Optical fiber automatic switching protection system (abbreviated as OLP) is an automatic monitoring and protection system that is independent of the communication transmission system and is completely built on the physical link of the optical cable. As a transmission device working at the optical layer, OLP has the characteristics of independent and transparent transmission signals, safety and reliability, and fast failure recovery. It can help users build a non-blocking, highly reliable, safe, flexible, and disaster-resistant optical communication network. According to the protection principle of the line, it can be divided into two protection modes: 1+1 and 1:1. 3. How doesSharetop solve the problem of optical fiber line protection?
