Eight types of network cables are the latest generation of double-shielded (SFTP) network jumper, which has two pairs of wires, can support the bandwidth of 2000MHz, and the transmission rate is up to 40Gb/s, but its maximum transmission distance is only 30m, so it is generally used for short distance data center server, switch, distribution frame and other equipment connection.
Cat8 standard for eight types of network cable
The relevant standards of the Cat8 network were officially released in 2016 by the us association of telecommunications industry association (TIA) tr-43 council, which is the following:
· comply with IEEE 802.3bq 25G / 40gbase-t standard, stipulate the minimum transmission rate of Cat8 eight types of network cables, which can support 25 Gbps and 40 Gbps network wiring.
· comply with the ANSI/tia-568-c.2-1 standard, which stipulates channels and permanent links for Cat8 eight types of network cables, including resistance imbalance, TCL and ELTCTL limitations.
· comply with ANSI/tia-1152-a standard, stipulate Cat8 eight types of network line field tester measurement and accuracy requirements.
· comply with ISO/iec-11801 standard, stipulate the channel and permanent link of class I/II Cat8 8 network cable.
Three kinds of structure
· the first structure of eight types of network cables: each pair of shielding + total shielding of aluminum foil + external quilt
· the second structure of eight types of network cables: each pair of shielding + weaving total shielding + outer quilt
· the third structure of eight types of network cables: each pair of shielding + total shielding of aluminum foil + total shielding of weaving + external quilt
Eight classes are different from Cat5, Cat6, Cat7
Can be seen from the table above, Cat8 eight class seven/super seven types of cable, cable and belong to shielded twisted-pair cable type, can be applied to the data center, high speed and bandwidth intensive place, although Cat8 eight kinds of cable transmission distance not far as seven class/super seven types of cable, but it is far beyond the rate and frequency of the seven classes/super seven types of cable. The difference between Cat8 class 8 and supercategory 5 network lines and 6 / super 6 types of network lines is mainly reflected in terms of rate, frequency, transmission distance and application.
