Switches from vendors such as Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/Alcatel are old friends. I was familiar with Juniper and Huawei equipment before, so I am not unfamiliar with Cisco. Since 2018, I have gradually come into contact with Cisco products. I feel that cisco's certification system is very good. I just watched the CCNA and CCNP PPT, and then saw the English version of the Routing TCP/IP Volume 1 Volume 2 document and so on. I have participated in XYT training courses, including CCIE written test. What I want to say is that XYT's learning materials are really useful and cover most of the issues.
Taking the CCIE certification exam, on the one hand, is to test the academic performance of the past few years, on the other hand, I am actually a bit lazy, and I am not very enthusiastic about learning. I spend money on the exam to add some pressure to myself. From the CCIE written test last year to the current CCIE LAB, I can say that it has been really hard to think about the test preparation experience of the past year. Especially when preparing for exams like me, I have to go to work during the day and do my own job. Although the XYT I work for is an optical communication equipment manufacturer, I can usually access various types of equipment, but because my main job is sales, most of my day is to develop customers and follow up customer needs, so additional certification exams are added It is a big challenge for me.
Here are some insights and suggestions during my research process:
In terms of learning content, it is recommended to strengthen the learning of TCP/IP protocol. This is very important and basic. It is recommended that you look at the TCP/IP detailed protocol, which is mainly divided into 3 volumes, 1 volume of protocol, 2 volumes of application, and 3 volumes of transmission. To prepare for the CCIE exam, you only need to read Paper 1. In addition, the Sniffer tool is a good helper for learning protocols.
Do more experiments, be sure to do more experiments. I did not attend professional training courses or purchase distance learning materials. I use XYT's existing equipment to conduct experiments. When working at XYT, the most important thing is equipment. There is no shortage of Catalyst 3550 switches, and there are many routers. For equipment, according to the equipment and IOS list published on the Cisco website, 2 Catalyst 3550, 62621 or 3640, 3 Backbone, and 1 terminal server are required. XYT's existing equipment is 2 Catalyst 3550, 2 2600, 4 2500, the other 2511 are terminal servers, 1 4500 is Backbone, and 1 is 7500 FR Switch. The most economical solution can be with 1 Catalyst 2950,6 2500, 1 4T or 8T 4500 (connecting 2 2501, or 4 serial FR Switch, or even a dedicated router as FR Switch, 2 routers The serial port of XYT can also encapsulate fr, but the configuration feels different. I passed the written test last year and have been participating in the LAB for nearly a year this year. I have been doing experiments. The blueprint for the LAB exam released by XYT is very detailed. The scope of the test will not exceed this range. . I have been following this outline. In the experimental part, in fact, many knowledge points are also applied to a lot of work, and there are some uncommon functions. An operable and manageable network should be as uniform and stable as possible. The advice that needs to be given to everyone is , The main purpose of the experiment is to master the knowledge points through the process of the experiment. When you encounter problems that you don’t understand, check the documents, then display and debug. The purpose of the experiment is definitely not to recite commands. Of course, the Cisco documents on the Internet also have some errors. For example, in RIP, the document says that split horizon is turned off, summary routes can be advertised, etc., and the access list in the secondary address on the two routers is converted from broadcast to multicast: access list 135 allows any udp 4000, access list 135 Reject any UDP, it may be a clerical error.
Recommend XYT, as the pioneer of optical network transmission solution provider. There are many experts here, who are often enthusiastic to answer questions, and the answers are very accurate and professional, much better than some domestic forums.
In addition, I would like to give you some suggestions. Graduates go to train and test CCIE, I think this is the right choice. The entire training and exam can be completed with very little money. The actual network and the laboratory network are completely different. Of course, the laboratory can achieve a certain degree of network miniaturization and reproduction, but the application environment and traffic model in the commercial network are complex and accumulated in engineering practice. Work experience, the concept of establishing a global network, and the overall planning and understanding of the network can not only be obtained by closing the door in the laboratory for several months. It is recommended to accumulate some work experience, not necessarily to find a large company to work, small companies often give you more opportunities, have several years of work experience, then if you think your work is related to CCIE, CCIE or very If necessary, it will be better to go to the exam, and the chance of passing will be much greater.
Passing the CCIE exam is not the end, but a new starting point. After the real work, you will find that Cisco is just a pioneer in the Internet field. Now there are many budding talents who are trying to catch up. There are various kinds of communications in the entire communications market. DDN, ATM, xDSL, BRAS, SDH, DWDM, ASON, MSTP, NGN and other technologies have many broader fields in the entire data communication field, such as Security, VOIP, MPLS, XX, NGI, etc. We need to continue to explore.
CCIE laboratory exam equipment and IOS version:
The IOS versions I tested are 12.3 and 12.2. By November 13, 2019, I had to replace with a new device and a new version of IOS. The following is a list of CCIE LAB exam devices and IOS versions, including now and after November 13, 2019.
